The What:
Common disorders treated include mood problems, anxiety and depression, and other predominantly mental conditions.
Mental Health Purpose provides in person medication management for mental health needs with some telehealth availability after care has been established. Limited therapy services are blended with medication management to maximize treatment potential. Some of these services include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Interpersonal, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
The Why (Mission and Vision):
Mental Health Purposes seeks to provide person centered psychiatric care utilizing evidence-based practice while bridging the gaps in care incorporating all aspects of spiritual, physical, and mental health. Our vision is to empower patients in taking care of their mental health.
The When:
‘Initial intake‘ is a time for us to get to know each other, establish goals, understand policies and procedures, and can take place over 1 or more sessions. Once a treatment plan is established, ‘Follow up‘ appointments can last 20-30 minutes. These appointment very by need and complexity.
The How:
Mental Health Purpose adopts an integrative approach considering the whole person, evidenced based practices while recognizing that medication is only a steppingstone and will not fix all your problems, setting realistic expectations. As a result, I apply a conservative approach that limits the use of controlled substances and require all patients to adhere/sign controlled substance policy.
The stigma of mental health issues often blocks people from seeking assistance for several reasons. Fear of judgement. Fear of being treated like a number, not a human being. Fear of being “told” what the treatment plan is. I am committed to exploring a treatment plan that meets . you.
The Important:
Controlled Substances: The National Institute of Health states, “Regular use of benzodiazepines have been shown to cause severe, harmful psychological and physical dependence” and “Benzodiazepines should only be prescribed in the lowest effective does for the short-term relief (maximum of 2-4 weeks)”
Mental Health Purpose adopts this evidence-based practice and patients must agree to the controlled substance policy and tapering schedules if desiring to become a patient of the clinic.
The Cost:
Self-Pay fees:
$300.00 (60-90 min initial intake)
$150-$175 (20-30 minute follow up)
$225.00 (30-45 minutes) Extended follow up
